ReplyDeleteWell I don't know specifically about the Marines, but my father was Canadian and served in the U.S. Army and I know some other Canadians who served in the U.S. military too. So unless the rules have changed, it does happen.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the minimum enlistment contract for a Canadian Navy Recruit from 1967-1971? My biological father served in the Navy. My family is Mohawk/Seneca. My birth mother says this about his enlistment "Oh, Bill was stationed AROUND VANCOUVER ISLAND in 1967-1971, just before you were born and he met me. He was bored sick because his ship never left the dock. He only served 3.5 years out of a year contract, and left with a honourable discharge. We are estranged over my adoption issues. I want to know if he maybe served in the US Navy based across from Vancouver Island. I am wondering if I would qualify for US citizenship....adoptions hid a lot of truth from adoptees, and I was adopted by my grandparents legally.
