How Can a Canadian Enlist in the Marines

Based upon my research of what's on the internet, the only ways that a Canadian can join the Marines is by one of the following:

  • You have a greencard
  • Your parents are American citizens and can claim citizenship through them
  • You are native and can claim benefits under the Jay treaty
If you are aware of how else a Canadian can join the Marines, or any other branch of the US Military for that matter, send me an email.

since you can be embended into a us military squad and canadain force do use us military courses and bases in partnership with the us. example of this is if you want to have some advance weapons dispol traing the course is in the uk so they ship you to the uk

  3. Well I don't know specifically about the Marines, but my father was Canadian and served in the U.S. Army and I know some other Canadians who served in the U.S. military too. So unless the rules have changed, it does happen.

  4. What was the minimum enlistment contract for a Canadian Navy Recruit from 1967-1971? My biological father served in the Navy. My family is Mohawk/Seneca. My birth mother says this about his enlistment "Oh, Bill was stationed AROUND VANCOUVER ISLAND in 1967-1971, just before you were born and he met me. He was bored sick because his ship never left the dock. He only served 3.5 years out of a year contract, and left with a honourable discharge. We are estranged over my adoption issues. I want to know if he maybe served in the US Navy based across from Vancouver Island. I am wondering if I would qualify for US citizenship....adoptions hid a lot of truth from adoptees, and I was adopted by my grandparents legally.
