How Can a Canadian Enlist in the Marines

Based upon my research of what's on the internet, the only ways that a Canadian can join the Marines is by one of the following:

  • You have a greencard
  • Your parents are American citizens and can claim citizenship through them
  • You are native and can claim benefits under the Jay treaty
If you are aware of how else a Canadian can join the Marines, or any other branch of the US Military for that matter, send me an email.

  4. Well I don't know specifically about the Marines, but my father was Canadian and served in the U.S. Army and I know some other Canadians who served in the U.S. military too. So unless the rules have changed, it does happen.
